You will learn through a mixture of practical training with experienced professionals, and NVQ training with North Lancs Training Group (NLTG) – resulting in a full apprenticeship qualification (part of the National Apprenticeship Scheme).

With apprenticeships available in various departments, this highly satisfactory job will see you take customer furniture from old to new, whilst receiving advice and assistance from our qualified experts – many of whom have been in the job their whole working life.

    Technical Designer Regional Manager

    Due to increasing demand, an outstanding opportunity has become available for a confident, well-organised and professional individual to join the UK’s market leaders for re-upholstery and loose furniture covers.

    Responsibilities of the Technical Designer Regional Manager:

    Backed by a team of support staff at their Head Office in Preston, you will be responsible for their Southern manufacturing region. The current structure consists of circa 60 independent enterprises that manufacture goods on our behalf. You will be required to build a strong working relationship with all parties and monitor, motivate, and develop their activities accordingly so to ensure production targets are achieved and high levels of customer satisfaction are delivered.

    In order to meet increasing consumer demand, you will be instrumental in enhancing our production network. You will be comfortable and confident visiting and presenting to prospective manufacturers, explaining our procedures, detailing what we require from them and assessing whether each prospect can offer an excellent service and a quality product.

    You will possess the ability to build a successful working relationship with the Sales Team and Regional Sales Managers, being a fountain of production knowledge, a proactive problem solver and an ambassador for effective communication between the two departments. 

     Reporting directly to the National Manager, you will be accountable for maintaining and developing the manufacturing base, quality of service and product as well as the overall regional performance. Some customer visits may also be required, so a positive customer facing character will be required.

    Requirements of the Technical Designer Regional Manager:

    Experience within the upholstery or soft furnishing industry would be a distinct advantage but not essential. More importantly, is the ability to inspire and influence those around you. You should possess good IT skills and be a confident presenter, coming from a background of field visits/sales and B2B interface. You must also possess a full, clean driving licence.

  • Security / Maintenance Assistant - Preston (England)

    Security / Maintenance Assistant

    Location: Preston

    Salary: £9.00 per hour

    Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday 7.55am to 4.55pm, Saturday 7.00am to 5.00pm, Sunday 8.00am to 3.00pm

    We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our current Maintenance Team and to also provide weekend Security Cover.

    It is vital that you have a flexible approach to your work as you will be involved in a variety of Maintenance tasks as well as carrying out Security duties at the weekend.

    Responsibilities of the Security / Maintenance Assistant:

    Your duties will include assisting the Maintenance Manager with general maintenance tasks across the site and, at the weekend, you will be responsible for the opening, locking and securing of the site, along with the monitoring and testing of CCTV and alarm systems.

    Requirements of the Security / Maintenance Assistant:

    Previous experience of general maintenance work or security work within a factory environment would be an advantage for this role.
