Plumbs is a family firm that has been based in Preston for over 60 years, and is one of the most significant employers in the area. Factory

As well as our office based departments, we also operate our main factory from our Preston site. This is a hub of talented craftspeople, all working will skill, dedication and passion to help produce beautiful bespoke products for our customers. If you’re just leaving school or are newly interested in reupholstery, loose cover or curtain making, why not check out our apprenticeships?

For those with more expertise in their field, we’re always on the look out for talented craftspeople to join our various teams throughout the company. Our curtain department is equally busy, working with fabrics from some of the country’s most prestigious design houses. All our curtains are fully lined and mitred with blind hems, so you can be proud to produce high quality products with a beautiful finish.

  • Delivery Driver - Reading (England)

    We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to provide support and assistance at our new Hub based in Reading.

    Delivery Driver Responsibilities:

    • Assist the local delivery hub with deliveries to customer locations.
    • Assist with the collection of furniture from customer locations.
    • Contacting customers to arrange collections and deliveries.
    • Provide cover for the Hub Team leader

    Delivery Driver Requirements:

    • Positive attitude with experience of dealing with challenge and change.
    • Ability to organise workload and forward plan.
    • Flexibility in terms of work responsibilities, including the occasional night away if required.
    • Team focused.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Clean Driving License with no more than 3 current points for any speeding offence. No endorsements for drug, alcohol or careless driving
    • Authorised to drive vans up to 3.5t
    • Ability to route plan
    • Physically fit, as the role requires the lifting and carrying of domestic furniture.

    We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, positive individual with a flexible attitude to work to join our busy transport department to train up as a Delivery Driver. Your role will be to make multiple furniture collections and deliveries to our residential customers Nationwide.

    Full Time: 42.5 Hours per Week

    Customer Service Clerk Duties:

    • Facilitate an allocated volume of Preston assigned orders through the production process, updating customers, liaising with sales agents and internal production staff.
